Starting with the part most comparison pages would bury: BookingKoala is cheaper than QuoteIQ at every tier, and rated higher than us on both major review sites. $27/month covers five providers. They hold 4.9 on Capterra and 4.8 on G2. If you came here looking for a page that says they’re bad software, this isn’t it. What follows is the actual difference — which is about what each platform is built to do, not what it costs.
BookingKoala is a booking-and-website platform: $27/month for 5 providers, $57 for 15, $197 for 50, with a website builder, SEO, blog, embeddable booking forms, coupons, gift cards, cart abandonment and a referral engine — plus a 14-day trial and no contracts. It’s cheaper per seat than QuoteIQ at every tier and rated higher, at 4.9 on Capterra and 4.8 on G2. What it doesn’t have is field operations depth: no AI of any kind, no business phone, no route optimization, no satellite measurement and no job costing. QuoteIQ has all five, from $29.99. So the honest split is what you need next. If you’re launching a service business and your problem is getting booked, BookingKoala is built precisely for that and priced accordingly — go use it. If you already have steady work and your problem is running it profitably — quoting faster, answering calls you’re missing, routing crews, costing jobs — that’s a different product. One caveat worth knowing either way: their own five-star reviewers consistently describe the initial setup as long and complex.
TL;DR: BookingKoala was built by Filip Boksa out of the internal software that scaled his Chicago cleaning company, King of Maids, and launched publicly in 2018 from Skokie, Illinois — the same operator-built origin QuoteIQ has. It prices per provider rather than per user, which is why $27 covers five people and $57 covers fifteen, and it includes mobile access on every tier including the cheapest. Its Capterra rating is 4.9 across 44 reviews with 98% positive sentiment, Value for Money at 4.9, and 4.8 on G2 across 36 — the highest-rated platform in this comparison series. Its centre of gravity is customer acquisition: website builder, SEO, funnels, campaigns, a marketplace. QuoteIQ’s is running the work: AI Estimator, Virtual Call Team, native phone and two-way SMS, route optimization, satellite measurement and job costing, across 50+ trades with trade-specific templates. Per the U.S. Small Business Administration, the constraint on a service business shifts from demand generation to delivery capacity as it matures — which is a fair description of when each of these tools fits.
We’re publishing this in full because leaving it out would be dishonest, and because the rest of the page only means anything if this part is on the table. BookingKoala prices per provider — anyone who performs the service, with each team member counted individually — or by storage, or by campaign contacts, whichever limit you reach first. QuoteIQ prices per user seat.

There is no reading of that table where we come out ahead on cost, and we’re not going to invent one. A fifteen-person cleaning company pays BookingKoala $57 a month. The equivalent seat count on QuoteIQ is Max at $699. If price per seat is your deciding criterion, stop reading and go sign up with them — they have a 14-day trial and no contract, so it costs nothing to find out. The rest of this page is for people whose deciding criterion is something else.
This is the actual distinction, and once you see it the pricing difference makes sense. These products solve different halves of a service business. BookingKoala is optimised for getting customers to book you. QuoteIQ is optimised for running the work after they do.
Neither list is a criticism of the other product. BookingKoala doesn’t claim to do AI, phone systems or route optimization — it’s a booking platform and it’s honest about that. QuoteIQ doesn’t ship a website builder below Max or a marketplace at all. The useful question isn’t which list is longer, it’s which list describes the problem you have this quarter. A business with no bookings doesn’t need route optimization. A business turning down work because nobody answers the phone doesn’t need another coupon engine.
Omitting these would make the rest of the page less believable, so here they are without spin. BookingKoala holds 4.9 out of 5 across 44 Capterra reviews with 98% positive sentiment, Ease of Use at 4.8, Customer Service at 4.9 and Value for Money at 4.9. On G2 it holds 4.8 across 36 reviews, with 91.7% of reviewers from small businesses. That’s the strongest rating profile of any platform we’ve compared.
Both samples are small — Jobber carries 478 G2 reviews for context — so the averages could move meaningfully on a handful of new entries. But small samples cut both ways, and at 98% positive there’s nothing here to argue with. Support in particular comes up repeatedly and warmly across reviews.
The one recurring criticism, and it comes from five-star reviewers: initial setup takes a while. A house cleaning service reviewer wrote that the platform “took a little while to get comfortable around but the support team is fantastic and held my hand throughout the process” — and another noted the reports section was “a little much to figure out in the beginning.” Both still rated it five stars. Read that as a real onboarding cost, not a product flaw: a platform with a website builder, funnels, campaigns, hiring and booking forms has a lot of surface area to configure. Budget the time.
“The intuitive interface ensures even new users can quickly master tasks like quoting and scheduling jobs.”
— shandi lowell, verified App Store review of QuoteIQ. Setup speed is the one place where the narrower product has the structural advantage — there’s simply less to configure before you can quote a job. These are capabilities BookingKoala doesn’t offer at any tier, and they’re all on the operations side of the line.
AI Estimator, Virtual Call Team, Before/After AI, AI Autopilot and AI Text Generator — from $29.99. BookingKoala documents no AI functionality of any kind.
A native in-app business number with two-way calling and unlimited texting on Pro and above, plus a 24/7 AI receptionist. BookingKoala sends notifications; it isn’t a phone system.
True stop sequencing on Elite. BookingKoala offers calendar and map views, which show you where jobs are rather than what order to do them in.
MapMeasure Pro measures a property from the office for area-quoted work — essential for lawn care and pressure washing, and not something a booking platform offers.
Job costing with QuickBooks Online sync on Pro. Knowing margin per job is what separates a business that grows from one that just gets busier.
BookingKoala lists 27+ industries including barbers, tutors and accountants. QuoteIQ covers 50+ home service trades with trade-specific pricing and templates for cleaning, roofing, HVAC and more.
That last one deserves unpacking, because breadth and depth aren’t the same thing. BookingKoala’s industry list spans appointment-based services generally — salons, spas, chiropractors, dog walkers, tutors. That’s a genuine strength if you run one of those. But a platform serving barbers and accountants alongside cleaners is necessarily generic about any one of them. QuoteIQ’s 50+ trades are all home services, which is why there are trade-specific estimate templates, options-based proposals built for upselling a service package, QuoteIQ Cam for before-and-after job documentation, and e-signatures on service agreements. Neither approach is wrong — they’re aimed at different buyers.

Eleven blue rows — the most any competitor has taken in this series. Website builder at $27 against Max at $699 is the one that should give us pause, and it is a fair criticism of our packaging. The booking row is a different matter: their form captures an unpriced request, which QuoteIQ also does, while InstaSchedule only opens once a customer has accepted an estimate — so the job lands sold at a locked price. Those are not the same product and we should not have scored them as one. If a website builder and self-booking are the two things you need, BookingKoala delivers them for $27 and QuoteIQ doesn’t come close.
There’s a version of this comparison where price per seat settles it, and for a lot of businesses it genuinely does. But software cost is rarely the largest number in a service business’s P&L, and it’s worth checking the comparison against the numbers that are.
Take missed calls. If ten inbound calls a month go to voicemail and your average job is $250, that’s $2,500 in exposure — roughly forty-five times the difference between BookingKoala Growing at $57 and QuoteIQ Pro at $149.99. QuoteIQ’s Virtual Call Team answers those calls around the clock and books them; BookingKoala has no phone system to answer them with. Same logic on quoting speed with AI Estimator and MapMeasure Pro, on drive time with route optimization, and on margin visibility with job costing.
The reverse holds just as firmly, and this is the part we won’t dodge: if you have no bookings, none of that matters. A $2,500 missed-call problem requires calls to be coming in. For a business that hasn’t reached that point, BookingKoala’s website builder and booking forms at $27 are the higher-return purchase, and no amount of operational tooling substitutes for demand. The everyday layer is covered either way — scheduling, invoicing, review automation, email and text automation and the full feature set on our side, booking and marketing tooling on theirs.
A reasonable way to run this decision: write down the single biggest thing costing you money right now — empty calendar slots, unanswered calls, jobs that lose money, hours lost to driving. If the answer is the first one, BookingKoala is your tool and $27 is a bargain for it. If it’s any of the other three, that’s what QuoteIQ was built for. Plenty of businesses eventually run one of each, and there’s nothing wrong with that either.
Five plans on the public pricing page, each with its user count stated, a 14-day free trial on all of them, month-to-month with no contract. Unlimited customers, properties and jobs on every tier. Annual billing gives two months free.
This distinction gets flattened in most software comparisons, so it’s worth being precise. A booking form — the kind most platforms in this category ship — captures an unpriced service request that you still have to quote, price, confirm and chase. InstaQuote and InstaSchedule are two separate products, and neither one is that. Together they’re the only self-quoting and self-scheduling combination in the industry.
The difference in one sentence: a booking form schedules an unpriced request. InstaSchedule only opens after a customer taps Accept on an estimate — so the job arrives already sold, at a locked price, with the payment method on file, in a slot that was genuinely free, waiting on your one-tap approval. Around 40% of appointments are booked outside business hours, and Sunday evening is the busiest booking window of the week — which is time you are not answering the phone.
BookingKoala is cheaper than us, rated higher than us, and built by operators who solved the same problem we did from the other end. If your business needs bookings, they’ve built the better tool for that and $27 is a fair price for it. What they haven’t built is the operations layer — the AI that writes your quote, the receptionist that answers at 9pm, the routing that saves your crews an hour a day, the costing that tells you which jobs to stop taking. That’s the part QuoteIQ does, from $29.99, with a 14-day trial and no contract.

Four questions that settle it in about five minutes.
If it isn’t, your problem is demand and a booking platform with a website builder is the right spend. If it is, your problem is delivery.
Check last month’s call log for unanswered calls. Multiply by your average job value. That number tells you what an AI receptionist is worth to you.
If you can’t say which job type makes the most money, job costing matters more than another marketing feature.
Both run 14-day trials with no contract. Build one real quote and one real booking in each and see which friction you’d rather live with.
