Contractor+ has something QuoteIQ doesn’t: a genuinely free plan. If all you need is to send an estimate, send an invoice and take a card, it costs $0 and we’ll say so up front. What QuoteIQ has is five AI products against their one, plus satellite measurement, route optimization, automated Google reviews, customer self-quoting and 20+ other capabilities their platform doesn’t document — across 50+ trades instead of 30+.
These are the two closest-positioned platforms in this comparison series — both pitch an affordable all-in-one against the expensive incumbents. Contractor+ publishes a free forever plan covering clients, estimates, invoices and card and eCheck payments, then PRO at $49/month and PRO TEAM at $98/month. QuoteIQ starts at $29.99 with no free tier. Where QuoteIQ pulls decisively ahead is depth: five named AI products against their one — including a 24/7 AI phone receptionist with no documented counterpart — plus satellite property measurement, route optimization, automated Google review generation, customer self-quoting, job costing and 50+ trades. One term worth reading before you pay them anything: their pricing page states all sales are final with no refunds under any circumstances — quoted in full below alongside the free plan and feature trials that offset it.
TL;DR: Contractor+ positions itself as “the OS for build & service contractors” with the same argument QuoteIQ makes — one platform not six, the big incumbents cost a fortune and are hard to learn. They serve 30+ industries, market AI estimates, ship a unified communication inbox covering call, text, email and voicemail, offer multiple workspaces, and put a sales pipeline on their $49 PRO plan. Their free tier is real and we’re not going to pretend otherwise. QuoteIQ answers with breadth and depth their materials don’t document: AI Estimator, Virtual Call Team, Before/After AI, AI Autopilot and AI Text Generator; MapMeasure Pro; route optimization; Review Multiplier; InstaSchedule; QuoteIQ Cam; inventory; GPS crew tracking; and a full 14-day trial of the entire product rather than 14-day trials of individual premium features. Per the U.S. Small Business Administration, the software question shifts from cost to capability as a contractor grows — which is exactly the axis these two products separate on.
Every capability below is documented on QuoteIQ’s own feature pages with no equivalent found anywhere in Contractor+’s published materials as of July 2026. Where their platform may have something undocumented, we’ve said “not documented” rather than claiming it doesn’t exist — but if it isn’t on their site, you can’t buy it on the strength of their site.
That’s 23 capabilities, and it isn’t exhaustive. All of them are on a QuoteIQ plan between $29.99 and $699 — the full AI suite and quoting on the entry tier, measurement and review automation at $74.99, phone and job costing at $149.99, routing and self-booking at $299.
Contractor+ does market AI — specifically AI estimates — and we’re not going to claim otherwise. What their materials don’t document is anything beyond that. QuoteIQ ships five named AI products, all on every plan from $29.99, and each targets a different cost in a contracting business.
Photo or address to a line-itemized quote in seconds.
A 24/7 AI receptionist booking the calls you can’t take.
Show the finished result before the job is sold.
Outreach, follow-ups and invoicing by voice command.
Service copy and customer messaging written for you.
The one with no counterpart at all is the phone. Contractor+ ships a communication inbox that puts call, text, email and voicemail in one place — genuinely useful, and more than many competitors offer. But an inbox collects what already happened. Virtual Call Team answers the phone at 8pm while you’re finishing a job, qualifies the caller and books them — and it’s included on the $29.99 plan. For a contractor working alone, that’s the difference between a voicemail you return tomorrow and a job on the calendar tonight.
Contractor+ publishes a free forever plan and it’s a real one. In their own words it lets you manage clients, prepare and send estimates and invoices, and collect payments by credit card and eCheck — described as “pretty much everything you need for a smaller proprietorship or single-member business.” QuoteIQ has no free tier and no plan to pretend the comparison doesn’t exist.
If your entire requirement is estimate, invoice, get paid — take their free plan. It costs nothing, it does those three things, and QuoteIQ at $29.99 cannot beat $0 on that specific list. We’d rather tell you that than have you find out after paying us. Their PRO plan at $49/month also includes an opportunities and sales pipeline, which QuoteIQ gates at Elite — a fair hit on our packaging and worth naming.
The question that decides this comparison isn’t what a free plan covers — it’s what happens six months later. When you’re missing calls because you’re on a roof, driving an unoptimized route between five jobs, quoting by hand because nothing measures the property, and hoping customers remember to leave a Google review, the free plan has stopped being the cheap option. Those four problems have specific answers on QuoteIQ: an AI receptionist, route optimization, satellite measurement and automated review requests — and no documented answer on theirs.
“My estimates and invoices are very professional looking and the app is jam packed with essential tools to keep the business running smoothly.”
— Jfrizz_16, verified App Store review of QuoteIQ, one of 4,103 at 4.7 stars. This appears on Contractor+’s own plans and pricing page. We’re quoting it in full and linking the source rather than characterising it, because it’s clear enough on its own:
“Contractor+ is a digital, intangible good, and all sales are final. We will not honor any refunds for any reason, under any circumstances.”
— Contractor+ Plans & Pricing page, verbatim, read July 27, 2026.The context that belongs alongside it, also from their own pages: they offer a free forever plan, 14-day trials of most premium features like job scheduling and team chat, and self-service upgrade, downgrade and cancellation at any time. A contractor can evaluate a good deal of the product before paying anything, which materially softens the policy. Leaving that out would be selective quotation.
What it means practically: evaluate thoroughly on the free plan and the feature trials, because once money changes hands their published position is that it doesn’t come back. That’s a reasonable stance for a digital product and plenty of software companies take it — but it makes the free tier the whole of your evaluation window. QuoteIQ runs a full 14-day trial of the entire product on whichever plan you pick, then month-to-month with cancellation from account settings.
These two platforms argue the same case, and it’s worth saying so directly: the big incumbents cost too much and take too long to learn, you shouldn’t need six tools, here’s an affordable all-in-one built for the trades. Contractor+ makes that argument well. One of their own reviewers wrote that it’s “half the base price of housecall pro and includes everything that would be an add on” — which is, almost word for word, the case QuoteIQ makes against the same incumbents.
So the comparison isn’t about positioning. It’s about how far each platform goes once the basics are covered. Both handle clients, estimates, invoices, payments, scheduling and a mobile app — those rows are parity and we’ve marked them that way. The separation starts at the work-winning layer: quoting a property without driving to it, answering a phone you can’t reach, sequencing a route, and generating the Google reviews that produce next month’s leads. QuoteIQ documents an answer to each; Contractor+’s materials don’t.
There’s also a trade-depth difference behind the headline numbers. 50+ trades against 30+ sounds incremental, but QuoteIQ’s are all home services with trade-specific estimate templates and pricing logic — soft wash versus pressure wash changes the number in the AI Estimator because it changes the job. That’s the product of Mike Vidan having run a pressure washing company for twenty years and Justin Rogers building service businesses for as long, rather than a category count.
A fair way to test both: take one real job from your last month and run it end to end through each platform — the enquiry arriving, the property getting measured, the quote going out, the job getting scheduled, the invoice getting paid, the review request firing. Count the steps you’d still do manually. Contractor+’s free plan and QuoteIQ’s 14-day trial both cost nothing, so this is an afternoon rather than a purchase.
Verified July 2026 against Contractor+’s published pricing and feature pages. “Not documented” means we found no reference in their materials — not that the capability certainly doesn’t exist.

Four rows go to Contractor+ and they’re real: the free plan, a sales pipeline at $49 where we ask $299, voicemail inside the communication inbox, and multiple workspaces for running several businesses or locations. If those four are what you need, they’re the better buy. Twenty-one rows run the other way.
Five plans on the public pricing page, each with its user count stated, a full 14-day free trial of the whole product on all of them, month-to-month with no contract. All five AI products are on every tier including Essentials. Annual billing gives two months free.
This distinction gets flattened in most software comparisons, so it’s worth being precise. A booking form — the kind most platforms in this category ship — captures an unpriced service request that you still have to quote, price, confirm and chase. InstaQuote and InstaSchedule are two separate products, and neither one is that. Together they’re the only self-quoting and self-scheduling combination in the industry.
The difference in one sentence: a booking form schedules an unpriced request. InstaSchedule only opens after a customer taps Accept on an estimate — so the job arrives already sold, at a locked price, with the payment method on file, in a slot that was genuinely free, waiting on your one-tap approval. Around 40% of appointments are booked outside business hours, and Sunday evening is the busiest booking window of the week — which is time you are not answering the phone.
Contractor+ makes a good version of the same argument QuoteIQ makes, and their free plan is a genuinely strong starting point — if that’s all you need, take it. But estimates and invoices are table stakes. The work-winning layer is where a contracting business actually grows: the AI that answers your phone at 8pm, the satellite measurement that quotes a driveway without a site visit, the routing that gives you back an hour a day, the review request that fires automatically after every paid invoice. Twenty-three of those capabilities are on QuoteIQ from $29.99, and none are documented on theirs.
