01 / Send

Upload the contract. Place the boxes. Send one link.

Everything the customer needs to sign, set up in one pass.

Send a single document or several files as a named set, then mark exactly where the signature, initials and date go.

One document, or a named set of several.

Choose One document or Multiple documents. A multi-file set gets a name before it goes out, and the app tells you the documents in it are signed together, from one link.

Mark where each box goes.

Drag Signature, Initials and Date boxes onto the page. They save as you place them, and Save changes for future signers keeps the layout for the next time you send this document.

What you can send

Upload the contract, agreement or addendum you already use. Send it on its own or group several files into one named set.

Reusing a layout

When a document is sent again, QuoteIQ asks before it updates the boxes, because those boxes decide what the next signer is asked to fill in.

02 / Sign

Your customer signs documents online, from their phone.

A signing page that asks for what it needs, once.

The link opens a page that confirms who is signing, sets up their signature once, and walks them through every box.

Who is signing, confirmed first.

The link opens a Sign this document page that asks for the signer’s email address, so you know who signed and where to send their copy.

Name, signature, initials, consent.

Before the first box, the signer types their name, draws or types a signature, confirms their initials and agrees to sign electronically, then taps Start signing.

Done, with a copy in hand.

When the last box is signed the page says You’re all set and offers Download your copy. A copy of the signed document is emailed to the signer too.

No app for the customer

QuoteIQ Sign runs in the QuoteIQ web app; customers sign from any phone browser, with no app to install.

One tap per box

After the signature is set up, each signature, initials or date box is a single tap.

Send your next contract with QuoteIQ Sign.

Upload it, place the boxes, send the link, and get the signed copy back.

03 / With Estimates

Attach the contract to the estimate. Signed when they accept.

The price and the paperwork, accepted together.

Turn on QuoteIQ Sign for the documents on an estimate and the customer signs them as part of accepting it.

Choose which documents need signing.

In the estimate, Enable QuoteIQ Sign asks your customer to sign the attached documents when they accept. Add signature boxes to each document that needs them.

Signed on the estimate page.

On the estimate page, the customer consents once and signs each attached document in place, without leaving the estimate.

See it signed, open the copy.

The estimate’s Full Pricing Breakdown gains a Signature tab that shows the document as signed, dated, with the signed copy one tap away.

Drawn or typed once, then Accept estimate.

When an estimate needs a signature before it can be accepted, the customer taps Sign to accept, sets up a signature once in Set up your signature, and Accept estimate unlocks.

04 / Proposals

A proposal signed and accepted in one pass.

Consent, signature, initials, accept.

When a proposal carries documents to sign, the customer works through them with a signing bar and a checklist, then accepts.

Start signing, Next, Accept.

The signing bar moves from Start signing to Next to Accept estimate while the checklist ticks off each required box, and ends on Proposal accepted.

05 / Records

Every signed copy, kept where you look for it.

The paperwork stays with the customer.

Signed documents appear on the customer record, and the contracts you send often live in one library.

Awaiting signature, then signed.

The customer record lists each document sent for signature. It shows Awaiting signature until they sign, then the signed copy.

Your agreements, ready to attach.

Keep your contracts and terms in one list: upload a document, write your own, or start from a template, and choose a default. See Terms & Conditions.

FAQ

Choosing a DocuSign alternative: electronic signature software, explained.

Practical answers for contractors comparing DocuSign alternatives and the best electronic signature software for sending contracts.

Updated

The best DocuSign alternative for contractors puts the signature where the job already lives, so a signed contract ends up next to the estimate, the customer and the work instead of in a separate signing service. QuoteIQ Sign is the electronic signature software built into QuoteIQ: you upload a contract, an agreement or an addendum, drag Signature, Initials and Date boxes onto the page, and send your customer one signing link. They confirm their email address, set up a signature once and tap through each box on their phone, with no app to install. When they finish, they download their copy on the spot, a copy is emailed to them, and the signed document appears on their customer record. Attach the same documents to an estimate or a proposal and the customer signs them as part of accepting it, and the estimate’s Signature tab shows the signed copy. QuoteIQ Sign is in the QuoteIQ web app on the Pro, Elite and Max plans, so the contract, the price and the schedule stay in one app.

Customers sign documents online by opening the signing link you send and working through a short signing page in their phone’s browser, with no app to download. In QuoteIQ Sign the link opens a Sign this document page that asks for the signer’s email address first, so you know who signed and where their copy goes. Before the first box, the signer types their name, draws or types a signature, confirms their initials and agrees to sign electronically, then taps Start signing. After that, each Signature, Initials or Date box is a single tap. When the last box is signed, the page says You’re all set and offers Download your copy, and a copy of the signed document is emailed to the signer too. On your side, the customer record shows the document as Awaiting signature until they finish, then the signed copy. If the documents are attached to an estimate, the customer signs them on the estimate page as part of accepting it.

You send several documents for signature with one link by grouping them into a single named set, so the customer signs everything in one pass instead of opening a separate link for each file. In QuoteIQ Sign, choose Multiple documents when you upload and give the set a name before it goes out, and the app tells you the documents in it are signed together, from one link. Place Signature, Initials and Date boxes on each document where they are needed; the boxes save as you place them. The customer confirms their email address, sets up a signature once and taps through every box, then downloads the signed copy, which is also emailed to them. For a single contract, choose One document instead. A set works well for a contract with its addendum, or a service agreement with its terms, and the signed copies land on the customer record, next to their estimates in QuoteIQ.

A signed contract should be stored with the customer it belongs to, where you can find it again, and in QuoteIQ that happens on its own. When the signer finishes, the signing page offers Download your copy and a copy of the signed document is emailed to them, so they have their own record straight away. In QuoteIQ the customer record lists each document sent for signature: it shows Awaiting signature until the customer signs, then the signed copy. When the documents are attached to an estimate, the estimate’s Full Pricing Breakdown also gains a Signature tab that shows the document as signed and dated, with the signed copy one tap away. Because the paperwork stays with the customer and the job, nobody has to search an inbox or a separate signing service when a question comes up months later, and the contracts you send most often stay ready in your Terms & Conditions library.

Signing an estimate accepts the price and the scope, while a contract, agreement or addendum covers the terms that go with the work, and QuoteIQ handles both. Customers can sign and accept an estimate on every plan with E-Signatures. QuoteIQ Sign handles the other documents: contracts, agreements and addenda you send on their own or attach to an estimate or proposal. Turn on QuoteIQ Sign for the documents on an estimate, and the customer consents once and signs each attached document in place as part of accepting it; when a signature is needed before the estimate can be accepted, the customer taps Sign to accept, sets up a signature once in Set up your signature, and Accept estimate unlocks. On a proposal, a signing bar moves from Start signing to Next to Accept estimate while a checklist ticks off each required box, and ends on Proposal accepted. Either way, the price and the paperwork are accepted together, and the signed copies stay with the customer.

You reuse a contract template by keeping the document in one place with its signature boxes already set, so the next customer gets the same layout without any setup. In QuoteIQ, keep your contracts and terms in one list: upload a document, write your own, or start from a template, and choose a default in your Terms & Conditions library. When you place Signature, Initials and Date boxes on a document, Save changes for future signers keeps the layout for the next time you send it. When a document is sent again, QuoteIQ asks before it updates the boxes, because those boxes decide what the next signer is asked to fill in. That makes a standard service agreement, a maintenance agreement or an addendum quick to send again, with the boxes already where they belong. The signed copy of each one lands on that customer’s record, from Awaiting signature to the signed copy, and documents attached to an estimate are signed when the customer accepts it.

Customers do not need an app to sign a document electronically when the signing page opens in their phone’s browser, and that is how QuoteIQ Sign works. The customer taps the link you send, and a Sign this document page opens in any phone browser and asks for their email address. They set up a signature once, drawn or typed, confirm their initials, agree to sign electronically and tap through each box, then download their copy. You send from the QuoteIQ web app, so QuoteIQ Sign works as an electronic signature app without a separate esign app or digital signature app for you or your customer to install. The signed copy is emailed to the signer and saved on the customer record in QuoteIQ, and documents attached to an estimate are signed right on the estimate page. That keeps signing simple for homeowners and property managers, and it keeps the signed record with the job, where your office can find it.

Electronic signature software for a small business is usually a monthly subscription, and in QuoteIQ it comes inside the Pro, Elite and Max plans along with estimates, invoices and scheduling. QuoteIQ Sign is in the QuoteIQ web app on Pro at $199.99/month with 4 users, Elite at $299.99/month with 10 users and Max at $699.99/month with 20 users. On Essentials ($29.99/month, 1 user) and Beginner ($99.99/month, 2 users) you can still view the documents you already made, and you can add more users at $25/per-additional-user/mo on any plan. Plans differ in users, IQ Credits and the rest of the toolkit, and the plan cards on this page show what each one adds. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. A credit or debit card is required to start. Customers sign from their phone’s browser, and the signed copies stay on the customer record, so there is no separate signing subscription to keep in step with your customer list.
