Quick Answer

QuoteIQ’s AI Website Builder is a contractor website builder that generates a complete WordPress site from a written description of your business, for $34.99/month as an add-on on any plan — and at no extra cost on the Max plan. You get a live site in minutes with hosting, automatic SSL, a free yourbusiness.myquoteiq.site subdomain, and the option to point your own domain at it. Because the output is real WordPress with your own admin login, you edit pages yourself instead of filing a support ticket. It also sits alongside the rest of your operation: if you are on Elite or Max you can place your InstaQuote and InstaSchedule links on the site so visitors price or book their own job. For comparison, Jobber includes a template website free on every plan but keeps it on their platform, and Housecall Pro charges $99–$149/month plus a $99 setup fee for a done-for-you build that takes four to six weeks. QuoteIQ is rated 4.7 stars across 4,103 verified reviews. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, a credible web presence is foundational infrastructure for a growing service business — not a marketing luxury.

The Short Version

Everything the AI Website Builder Does

TL;DR: The AI Website Builder lives inside your QuoteIQ account. You write a short prompt describing your trade, services, service area, hours, and tone, and the builder returns a full site structure — hero, About, Services, Reviews, Service Areas, Contact — which you can reorder, add to, or delete before generating. A Colors & Fonts panel sets the theme. Publishing gives you a WordPress username and password of your own, a server region you choose, and a free subdomain immediately; connect a custom domain later with two DNS records and SSL is issued automatically. From there the site works alongside the rest of the platform. Virtual Call Team, available on all plans, answers the phone when you are on a roof. On Pro and above you can embed contact request forms that feed inquiries straight into your CRM. On Elite and Max you can add your InstaQuote and InstaSchedule links so homeowners price or book themselves. Review links from the Review Multiplier dashboard, on every plan, give you somewhere to point the site’s Reviews page. Pricing is $34.99/month on Essentials through Elite and included on Max, with a 14-day free trial on every plan. Google’s own mobile-first indexing documentation confirms that the mobile version of a site is what gets ranked, which is why every page the builder produces is responsive by default. The U.S. Small Business Administration recommends weighing total cost of ownership rather than headline price when choosing business software — a useful lens here, because a website is usually quoted as a project and paid for as a subscription.

The Problem

Referrals Google You Before They Call You

The most expensive lead a contractor loses is the one that was already sold. A neighbor recommends you, the homeowner types your business name into their phone, and nothing comes back except a Facebook page from 2019 and a stale directory listing. That homeowner does not conclude you are bad at your job. They conclude you might not still be in business — and they call the company that came up second. This is the quiet leak that never shows up in a lead report, because the lead never became an inquiry in the first place.

It compounds with everything else you are doing right. BrightLocal’s Local Consumer Review Survey has documented for years that the overwhelming majority of consumers read online reviews before choosing a local business. Those reviews live on your Google Business Profile — and Google’s own guidance for that profile asks for a website URL. If you are running Review Multiplier and stacking five-star reviews every week, the missing website is the one broken link in an otherwise complete chain. You built the trust and then gave the buyer nowhere to land.

The reason so many good operators still do not have one is not laziness. It is that the traditional options are all bad for a two-truck lawn care or HVAC outfit. Agencies quote four and five figures and disappear for six weeks. DIY builders hand you a blank canvas and a Saturday you do not have. Software-bundled site builders keep the site on their platform, so the day you switch tools your web presence goes with it. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics tracks steady demand across the installation, maintenance, and repair trades — the work is there. The question is whether the buyer can find and verify you in the ninety seconds they spend deciding.

The verification gap: a referred customer who cannot verify you online is the cheapest lead you will ever lose — you already paid for it with the work that earned the referral. A site that costs $34.99/month has to intercept roughly one job a year to pay for itself in most trades.

What It Does

Six Things the Builder Handles So You Don’t

A contractor website has a short, well-understood job: say who you are, list what you do, prove you are good at it, show where you work, and make it effortless to reach you. The builder produces all five without you opening a design tool, and every piece stays editable afterward from your own WordPress dashboard.

Prompt-to-Site Generation

Describe your company, trade, services, cities, years in business, hours, and tone. The builder writes the copy and lays out the pages. QuoteIQ publishes a recommended prompt template in the Help Center so you are not guessing at what to write.

Editable Page Structure

Before anything is generated you see the full sitemap — Hero, About Us, Services, Reviews, Service Areas, Contact — and their sub-pages. Add a page, delete one, or drag sections into a different order. Want FAQs above Contact? Move it.

🎨

Colors & Fonts Control

A dedicated theme panel sets button colors, typefaces, and the overall visual direction so the site matches your truck wraps and estimates instead of looking like a generic template someone else is also using.

🔒

Hosting, SSL & Server Region

Hosting is included in the subscription — nothing separate to buy or configure. You pick the server location closest to your market during setup, and SSL is issued automatically once your domain resolves, so the site loads over HTTPS without a certificate purchase.

🌐

Free Subdomain or Your Own Domain

Every site goes live immediately on a free yourbusiness.myquoteiq.site address. Already own a domain? Add it in the Domains panel, copy the A record and CNAME into your registrar, and the site moves over — typically within 48 hours of DNS propagating.

📊

Manage Dashboard & Traffic Stats

One Manage Website screen holds traffic stats, live preview, editing, and domain settings for the site. Your job and revenue numbers stay where they always were, in Business Analytics.

One honest limitation: QuoteIQ does not sell domain names yet. If you need one, buy it at a registrar such as GoDaddy or Namecheap first — usually $10–$20 a year — then connect it in the Domains panel. Everything else, including hosting and SSL, is covered by the subscription.

See It Work

One Paragraph In. A Whole Site Out.

Here is the actual shape of the workflow, using an HVAC company as the example. The prompt on the left is the kind of thing you would type in about ninety seconds. The preview on the right is the structure the builder returns — navigation, headline, service cards, and service-area coverage, all populated from what you wrote.

Why It’s Different

It Builds a Real WordPress Site — and Gives You the Login

This is the part that separates the AI Website Builder from most site tools bundled into field service software. During setup you create a WordPress username and password of your own. The output is not a proprietary page format rendered inside somebody’s app — it is WordPress, the content management system that powers a large share of the web, running on hosting included with your subscription. That single design decision changes what you can do on day two.

Practically, it means you fix your own typos. You add a service page the week you start offering ductless mini-splits, without emailing anyone. You publish a post about spring maintenance because you felt like it on a Tuesday. Contrast that with the managed-build model, where the standard package is a fixed page count and every change is a request submitted to a build team — Housecall Pro’s own website page lists five pages standard, fifteen on the Advanced package, and a typical four-to-six-week timeline from purchase to publish.

It also means the site is not hostage to your CRM subscription in the way a platform-native site is. Your domain is registered in your name at your registrar. The content is in a WordPress database. You are running QuoteIQ because the AI Estimator (all plans), MapMeasure Pro (Beginner and up), and EmployeeHub earn their keep — not because your web presence is locked in a box you cannot open. That is a healthier arrangement for both sides.

The trade-off is real and worth stating plainly: WordPress gives you power and therefore gives you rope. A managed brochure site is harder to break. If you want a site nobody in your company can ever misconfigure, a locked platform site is genuinely the safer product. If you want a site you can grow — more service pages, more city pages, an actual blog — you want the one with the login.

Why page count matters for local search: ranking for “AC repair Pooler GA” and “AC repair Richmond Hill GA” generally takes two pages, not one. A five-page cap forces you to choose which cities you compete in. An editable WordPress install does not.

The Math

What a Contractor Website Actually Costs in 2026

Website pricing is confusing because the same deliverable is sold four different ways — as a one-time project, as a managed monthly service, as a DIY subscription, or as a bundled software feature. Below is the honest range across all four, with the recurring costs most quotes leave out. The U.S. Small Business Administration advises evaluating total cost of ownership rather than headline price, which is exactly the right frame here.

Competitor pricing verified against each vendor’s official pricing page on September 1, 2026. Agency, freelance, and DIY ranges reflect published 2026 industry cost surveys and vary by scope.

Run it against your own average ticket. At $34.99/month the builder costs about $420 a year. A single furnace replacement, roof section, or repaint pays for a decade of it. Even at a $250 average ticket — a maintenance visit or a small cleaning job — the site needs to convert fewer than two extra customers per year to break even. That is a low bar for an asset that works at 11pm on a Sunday when your phone is off.

The comparison that actually matters is not builder versus builder. It is having a site versus not having one. Google’s local business structured data documentation describes how a business website feeds the details searchers see — hours, services, service area, contact. Without a site, you are handing that job entirely to third-party directories and hoping they get it right.

On the Max plan the arithmetic changes: the builder is included at no additional cost on Max ($699/month, unlimited users), alongside 8,000 IQ Credits and four additional businesses. Multi-brand operators frequently run a separate site per business from one subscription.

By Trade

What the Site Should Do in Your Trade

A website is not one product. An emergency trade needs a phone number above the fold and a page for every city it covers. A recurring-service trade needs a plan comparison and a booking button. The builder adapts page structure and copy to the trade you describe, and QuoteIQ supports more than 50 of them — see the full list on the industries hub.

🌡

HVAC

Emergency intent dominates. Lead with same-day availability, put the number in the header, and build a page per city. Pair with Virtual Call Team so 2am no-heat calls get answered. HVAC software →

🍃

Lawn Care & Landscaping

Recurring revenue lives or dies on easy signup. Publish weekly and biweekly plans with clear pricing. On Elite and Max you can add an InstaQuote link so visitors price their own lot, using MapMeasure Pro measurements on the back end. Lawn care software →

🔧

Plumbing

Split emergency work from planned work with separate pages so both rank. License number and service radius belong above the fold. On Pro and above, an embedded contact request form pushes after-hours inquiries straight into your CRM. Plumbing software →

🏠

Roofing

High ticket means the site carries more of the sale. Storm-damage and insurance-claim pages, a gallery of your own completed jobs rather than stock photography, and manufacturer certifications displayed prominently. Roofing software →

🎨

Painting

Buyers shop on portfolio. Interior, exterior, and cabinet refinishing each deserve a page with before-and-after work. Feed the gallery from job photos rather than stock images. Painting software →

🧹

House Cleaning

The decision is fast and price-sensitive. Show transparent pricing, a bonded-and-insured badge, and the shortest possible path to booking. Elite and Max accounts can drop in an InstaSchedule link so nobody waits on a callback. Cleaning software →

The same logic extends to electrical, pest control, tree care, concrete, handyman, window cleaning, and pressure washing. Describe your trade accurately in the prompt and the structure follows. Everything is editable afterward, so a first draft that misses a service is a two-minute fix, not a support ticket.

Honest Comparison

QuoteIQ vs. the Other Software-Bundled Websites

Three of the major field service platforms now ship a website in some form. They are not the same product, and the differences show up after launch rather than at signup. Verified September 1, 2026 against getjobber.com/pricing, housecallpro.com/lp/websites, and each vendor’s published feature documentation. ServiceTitan does not publish pricing for Marketing Pro or its website offering.

A note on the Jobber row: Jobber changed its packaging in 2026 and now bundles a website into every plan, including Core, at no extra charge. That is a real advantage over a $34.99/month add-on and we are not going to pretend otherwise. The question to ask is what happens on day two — whether you can add the ninth service page yourself, and whether the site is still yours if you change software.

Where the Alternatives Genuinely Win

No product wins every row, and pretending otherwise is how buyers get burned. Three cases where a competitor is the better answer:

💰

Jobber wins on price

Jobber includes a website on every plan at no additional cost, including Core. If a simple template site is genuinely all you need and you are already paying for Jobber, that is $34.99/month you do not have to spend. QuoteIQ’s answer is the WordPress login and the absence of a page cap — not a lower price on this line item.

🛠

Housecall Pro wins on done-for-you

Their team designs and builds the site for you. If you want zero involvement and are comfortable with a four-to-six-week timeline, a $99 setup fee, and a five-page package, that is a real service and some owners prefer it. QuoteIQ hands you a working site in minutes and expects you to steer it.

🏢

Agencies win on custom strategy

If your website is the primary revenue engine — large paid budgets, complex integrations, a content team — a good agency earns its $6,000–$35,000. For an owner-operator or a small crew, that is more website than the situation calls for, and the money usually does more good in trucks and technicians.

Frequently Asked Questions

Contractor Website Questions, Answered

QuoteIQ’s AI Website Builder is the strongest option for home service contractors who want a site they can actually own and grow, because it generates a real WordPress install with your own admin login rather than a page locked inside a vendor’s app. You describe your business in a paragraph and get a full site — home, About, Services, Reviews, Service Areas, Contact — with hosting, automatic SSL, and a free subdomain, for $34.99/month on Essentials through Elite and included on Max. The wider answer depends on what you need: Jobber includes a template site free on every plan, which is the cheapest route if a simple brochure page is enough; Housecall Pro builds one for you at $99–$149/month plus a $99 setup fee over four to six weeks; and general-purpose builders like Wix and Squarespace give you a blank canvas and expect you to design. If you are on Elite or Max you can also place InstaQuote and InstaSchedule links on the site so visitors price and book themselves instead of waiting for a callback; on Pro and above, contact request forms feed inquiries directly into the CRM. QuoteIQ holds a 4.7-star rating across 4,103 verified reviews and was founded by Mike Vidan, a 20-year home service business owner. The U.S. Small Business Administration treats an online presence as core business infrastructure rather than optional marketing spend.
Monthly contractor website costs run from about $0 to $500 depending on the route you take. QuoteIQ’s AI Website Builder is $34.99/month as an add-on on Essentials ($29.99), Beginner ($74.99), Pro ($149.99), and Elite ($299), and is included at no additional cost on Max ($699). Hosting and SSL are covered; the only outside cost is the domain itself, typically $10–$20 a year at a registrar. What you do with the site then depends on your tier: contact request forms that feed the CRM are Pro and above, and InstaQuote and InstaSchedule links are Elite and Max. Jobber includes a website on all plans starting at $49/month for Core, though its Marketing Suite is a separate $99/month add-on. Housecall Pro Websites start at $99/month for five pages, $149/month for the fifteen-page Advanced package, each with a one-time $99 setup fee on top of a Housecall Pro subscription that begins at $59/month billed annually. ServiceTitan does not publish pricing for its marketing products. Outside the software world, agency builds land between $6,000 and $35,000 up front with a monthly care plan after, and freelancers run $1,500–$8,000. The SBA recommends comparing total cost of ownership — subscription plus add-ons plus maintenance — rather than the advertised starting price.
You write a description of your business and the builder turns it into a site. In QuoteIQ the flow has six steps. First, open the AI Website Builder tab inside your account. Second, fill in the prompt — company name, trade, city and state, your service list, primary service areas, whether you serve residential or commercial, years in business, hours, phone, email, and the tone you want. QuoteIQ publishes a fill-in-the-blank template for this in the Help Center, and detail matters: a vague prompt produces a vague site. Third, click Generate. Fourth, set up your site details — site title, the server location closest to your market, and your own WordPress username and password. Fifth, review the proposed page structure, where you can add pages, delete pages, drag sections into a different order, and set your theme in the Colors & Fonts panel. Sixth, you land in the Manage Website dashboard with traffic stats, live preview, editing, and domain settings. The AI does occasionally miss or garble a detail, which is why every element stays editable afterward from your own WordPress dashboard. Website traffic stats live in that Manage Website dashboard; your job, estimate and revenue reporting stays in Business Analytics, which is Basic on Essentials and Advanced from Beginner up. From there you can add your InstaQuote and InstaSchedule links if you are on Elite or Max, embed a contact request form on Pro and above, and point the Reviews page at the review links in your Review Multiplier dashboard. Google’s mobile-first indexing guidance is why the output is responsive from the start.
The AI Website Builder is a $34.99/month add-on on the Essentials, Beginner, Pro, and Elite plans, and it is included at no additional cost on Max. In practice that means a solo operator on Essentials pays $29.99 for the platform plus $34.99 for the site — $64.98/month for software and a website together. On Beginner the combined figure is $109.98, on Pro $184.98, and on Elite $333.99. Max is $699/month with the builder bundled in alongside unlimited users, 8,000 IQ Credits, Sales Team Tracker, crew management, and four additional businesses, which is why multi-brand operators often land there and run a separate site per business. The add-on can be turned on or off independently of your plan tier, so you are not forced to upgrade the whole subscription to get a website. Other features vary by plan in the usual way: AI Estimator and the Review Multiplier dashboard are on every plan; MapMeasure Pro and QuoteIQ Cam start at Beginner; QuickBooks sync and Job Costing start at Pro; and InstaQuote and InstaSchedule are Elite and Max. Every plan carries a 14-day free trial, and a credit or debit card is required to start. The U.S. Small Business Administration recommends pricing software by the total monthly bill including add-ons, which is exactly how the figures above are calculated.
The three differ on ownership, speed, and cost. QuoteIQ generates a real WordPress site and gives you a WordPress username and password, so you edit and expand it yourself with no stated page cap, for $34.99/month or free on Max. Jobber’s website is included with every plan at no extra charge and goes live in minutes, which is a genuine advantage on price — the trade-off is that the site is a Jobber-hosted template tied to your Jobber subscription rather than a CMS you hold credentials to. Housecall Pro takes the opposite approach: their team designs and builds it, which suits owners who want no involvement, but it costs $99/month for five pages or $149/month for fifteen, carries a $99 setup fee, and typically takes four to six weeks from purchase to publish. Page count is the practical dividing line, because competing for “service + city” searches across a metro usually needs a page per city. The other separator is what the site can point at: on Elite and Max, an InstaQuote link lets visitors build their own estimate off satellite measurement, which neither competitor offers natively. Full breakdowns live on the QuoteIQ vs Jobber and QuoteIQ vs Housecall Pro pages. Pricing verified September 1, 2026.
Yes. QuoteIQ runs a 14-day free trial on all five plans — Essentials through Max — and a credit or debit card is required to start. That gives you two weeks to generate a site, look at what the AI produced from your prompt, rework the page structure, and decide whether it is worth keeping before any long-term commitment. There are no contracts and you can cancel at any time. A practical way to use the window: generate the site on day one, connect your domain immediately so DNS has time to propagate (it can take up to 48 hours), then spend the rest of the trial testing the parts that actually drive revenue — send a few estimates through the AI Estimator, measure a couple of properties with MapMeasure Pro, run one job end to end from quote to paid invoice, and turn on Review Multiplier. If you would rather be walked through it, you can book a free demo and have someone show you the builder before you sign up. Annual billing, if you go that route later, is priced at ten months for twelve.
At minimum: a home page that says what you do and where, an About page with the owner and the years in business, one page per major service, a Service Areas page or a page per city you cover, a Reviews page, and a Contact page with a clickable phone number, ideally backed by Virtual Call Team so nobody reaches voicemail. The AI Website Builder proposes exactly this structure and lets you add or remove pages before generating. The two most commonly under-built are service pages and city pages, and they are the two that matter most for local search — someone searching “furnace repair Rincon GA” is far more likely to reach a page about furnace repair in Rincon than a general home page. Google’s local business structured data documentation describes the details searchers expect to find: hours, service area, contact information, and services offered. Beyond the basics, add an FAQ page answering what you get asked on every estimate, a gallery of your own completed jobs rather than stock imagery, and a clear booking or quoting path — a contact request form on Pro and above, or an InstaSchedule or InstaQuote link on Elite and Max. BrightLocal’s research consistently finds reviews are a decisive factor for local buyers, so give them a real page rather than a footer widget.
Yes to both. Every site publishes immediately on a free QuoteIQ subdomain in the form yourbusiness.myquoteiq.site. To use a domain you already own, open Manage on the site, go to Domains, enter the domain, and the system displays the exact DNS records to add at your registrar — an A record pointing your root domain at QuoteIQ’s server and a CNAME for the www version. Paste those into GoDaddy, Namecheap, or wherever the domain lives. DNS can take up to 48 hours to propagate fully, and once it does, SSL is issued automatically so the site loads securely with no certificate to buy. You can change or replace the domain later from the same panel. One current gap worth knowing: you cannot purchase a domain through QuoteIQ yet, so buy it at a registrar first — everything else, including hosting, is covered by the $34.99/month add-on. On the CRM side, what you can wire in depends on your plan. Contact request forms, available on Pro, Elite and Max, embed on the site and feed inquiries directly into QuoteIQ. InstaQuote and InstaSchedule are Elite and Max, and are added as links you place on the site rather than a built-in module. ClientHub is Pro and above and Pipelines are Elite and Max, both used inside the CRM rather than on the public site. Setup steps are documented in the QuoteIQ Help Center.
