FieldEdge sells inventory, reporting, AI call answering, and review requests as add-ons or partner subscriptions, and we couldn’t find satellite measurement or AI photo estimating at all. A five-person gas line crew lands around $1,066–$1,386 a month on third-party estimates. QuoteIQ Elite is $299 a month, everything included.
FieldEdge, sold as FieldEdge by Xplor, is a serious platform. It says it invented field service management software for HVAC contractors in 1980 and built the industry’s first dispatch board more than 20 years ago, and its own site lists HVAC, plumbing, electrical, locksmith, and appliance repair as its trades. A gas line and plumbing company can run on it. The question is what it costs once you run quoting, call handling, reviews, and reporting on top of dispatch.
FieldEdge does not publish prices. Select, Premier, and Elite plans are all sales-quoted, and third-party estimates run about $100 per office user and $125 per field tech per month. Onboarding is mandatory and reported at $500–$2,000+ one-time. Inventory management (about $39 a month) and advanced reporting (about $49 a month) are add-ons. AI call answering runs through Goodcall ($79–$249 a month) and automated review requests through partners like Birdeye ($299–$449 a month). A G2 reviewer put it in five words: “Everything is an additional charge.”
Gas line work has its own bottlenecks. A new gas line installation lives or dies on the pipe run from the meter to the range, dryer, tankless water heater, fireplace, fire pit, outdoor kitchen, generator, or pool heater, and measuring it usually costs a truck roll. Leak detection, pressure testing, appliance hookups, propane conversions, and gas line repair calls come in after hours. Every finished job is a review you should collect. This guide doesn’t argue FieldEdge is a bad product. It shows what a real gas line crew pays to cover those bottlenecks, and what QuoteIQ Elite includes for less on one plan.
One office user and four field techs, matched feature for feature against what QuoteIQ Elite ($299/mo, up to 10 users) includes. FieldEdge is priced from third-party and user-reported estimates because it publishes none.
Data note: FieldEdge does not publish a full price list. Every FieldEdge dollar figure on this page is a third-party or user-reported estimate gathered September 25, 2026, and your quote may differ. Partner prices are the partners’ own published or reported rates. We re-verify FieldEdge figures every 30 days (next check: October 25, 2026).
+ $500–$2,000+ one-time onboarding. Unpriced lines are excluded from the total.
What we couldn’t find in FieldEdge: satellite property measurement and AI photo-based estimating. Neither appears in FieldEdge’s published features or partner list as of September 25, 2026. “Not found” is a research result, not a guarantee, so ask FieldEdge sales directly before you rule either one out.
Matching QuoteIQ Elite on FieldEdge takes an estimated $1,066–$1,386 a month for a five-person crew, plus $500–$2,000+ in onboarding, before any GPS or booking partner fees. QuoteIQ Elite is $299 a month, which is $767–$1,087 less every month. One login, published pricing, no sales call.
The features a gas line crew uses every week. Where FieldEdge is genuinely as good or better, the table says so.

| ⚠ = add-on, partner subscription, or not found in FieldEdge’s published features. FieldEdge’s genuine advantages: QuickBooks Desktop support, the Coolfront flat-rate database, mature service-agreement workflows, and a long-proven dispatch board. FieldEdge figures are third-party or user-reported as of September 25, 2026. | ||
FieldEdge matches QuoteIQ on dispatch, route optimization, two-way texting, and service agreements, and beats it on QuickBooks Desktop and the Coolfront database. QuoteIQ Elite wins where FieldEdge sends you to add-ons or partners: AI call answering, review automation, inventory, reporting, and live GPS, plus the two capabilities we couldn’t find at FieldEdge, satellite measurement and AI photo estimating.
FieldEdge earned its reputation. Here is the honest case for choosing it over QuoteIQ, drawn from its own site and third-party reviews.
A dispatch board with a long track record. FieldEdge says it built the industry’s first dispatch board more than 20 years ago and has served contractors since 1980. On G2 it holds 4.0 out of 5 across 87 reviews (page modified September 17, 2026), and reviewers praise the dispatch board, technician ease of use, call history, and agreement reminders.
QuickBooks Desktop and Online. FieldEdge syncs with both. QuoteIQ syncs with QuickBooks Online only, so a bookkeeper who insists on Desktop is a real reason to stay.
Coolfront flat-rate pricing and Proposal Pro. If you want a large pre-built flat-rate database and good/better/best proposals out of the box, Coolfront and Proposal Pro are strong. QuoteIQ gives you Options Estimates on every plan and a price book you build yourself.
Service agreements and MarketingEdge. FieldEdge’s agreement workflow handles renewals, billing, and scheduling natively, and MarketingEdge adds agreement, email, and SMS marketing. If recurring maintenance agreements are the core of your revenue, evaluate this closely.
Two-way texting and route optimization are native. Some older comparisons say FieldEdge lacks them. It doesn’t. QuoteIQ matches both, so neither is a reason to switch.

No five-week onboarding to schedule. Here’s the process from account creation to your first gas line estimate.
Go to admin-quoteiq.web.app/register and pick the plan that fits your crew size. Every plan includes a 14-day free trial with full access to that plan’s features.
Export your customer list from FieldEdge as a CSV, or ask FieldEdge support for a data export. You only need names, service addresses, phone numbers, and emails to get started.
Upload the CSV to QuoteIQ’s AI Smart Import. The AI proposes a column mapping you can review, shows an import preview, and flags duplicates before anything lands. Prefer to hand it off? Done-For-You setup ($299.99) covers contact import, price book setup, and a 1-on-1 onboarding session.
Add new gas line installation, gas line repair, leak detection and pressure testing, range and cooktop hookups, dryer hookups, tankless water heater and furnace connections, fireplace and fire pit lines, outdoor kitchen and BBQ lines, generator hookups, pool heater lines, meter and regulator work, and natural gas to propane conversions, with your per-foot, per-appliance, or flat rates.
Open MapMeasure Pro, enter the service address, and trace the run from the meter to the appliance location. QuoteIQ builds the estimate from your price book. Confirm the final routing on site before you cut pipe.
Three reviews about cost, integrations, and support, checked word for word against the live G2 and Capterra pages on September 25, 2026. FieldEdge’s overall G2 rating is 4.0 out of 5 across 87 reviews, so these show the critical end of the range, not the average.

QuoteIQ was co-founded by Mike Vidan II and Justin Rogers, both of whom ran service businesses before building software to solve the problems they faced firsthand.
Mike ran a pressure washing business for more than 20 years and built a YouTube audience of 580,000+ subscribers before co-founding QuoteIQ. MapMeasure Pro came out of contractor feedback about measuring a property without leaving the office. It’s the same idea that lets a gas line estimator price a meter-to-appliance run before the truck rolls.
Justin is a serial entrepreneur and pressure washing business owner who co-founded QuoteIQ after trying to run his own service businesses on several disjointed apps. His ForeverSelfEmployed YouTube channel covers business building for independent operators, and the same one-login thinking shapes QuoteIQ: one plan price instead of a stack of add-ons.
In the interest of full transparency, here is the complete case for staying. These are product reasons, not marketing ones.
Your bookkeeper requires QuickBooks Desktop. FieldEdge syncs with QuickBooks Desktop and Online. QuoteIQ syncs with QuickBooks Online only. If Desktop is a hard requirement, that alone is a legitimate reason to stay.
Your pricing runs on Coolfront and Proposal Pro. If your team already quotes from FieldEdge’s flat-rate database and good/better/best proposals, and you don’t want to rebuild a price book, the switching effort is real.
Recurring service agreements drive your revenue and your dispatchers live on the board. FieldEdge’s agreement renewals and dispatch board are mature, and a dispatch team that runs a large crew all day may prefer them.
The honest bottom line: If QuickBooks Desktop or the Coolfront workflow is non-negotiable, stay on FieldEdge. For a gas line crew of one to ten people weighing total monthly cost, add-on stacking, and a 14-day free trial against a mandatory five-week onboarding, QuoteIQ Elite is $299 a month against an estimated $1,066–$1,386.
For most crews of one to ten people, yes. QuoteIQ Elite is $299 a month with up to 10 users and includes MapMeasure Pro for measuring meter-to-appliance runs, route optimization, live GPS, inventory, reporting, AI call answering, and automated review requests. FieldEdge is stronger on QuickBooks Desktop support, the Coolfront flat-rate database, and service-agreement workflows. If none of those decide it for you, the cost gap is large: an estimated $1,066–$1,386 a month for a five-person FieldEdge crew once add-ons are included.
FieldEdge does not publish prices. Its Select, Premier, and Elite plans are all sales-quoted. Third-party estimates run about $100 per office user and $125 per field tech per month, so one office user and four techs come to roughly $600 a month. Add inventory (about $39), advanced reporting (about $49), Goodcall for AI call answering ($79–$249), and Birdeye for review requests ($299–$449) and the estimate reaches $1,066–$1,386 a month, plus $500–$2,000+ in one-time onboarding. These figures are third-party and user-reported as of September 25, 2026, and one other source lists lower “starting” prices, so get a written quote before you compare.
Yes. FieldEdge lists 2-Way SMS Texting as available, and some older comparisons that say otherwise are wrong. QuoteIQ’s equivalent is ClientHub, available on Pro and above, with a dedicated business number and two-way texting and calling. Texting is metered in IQ Credits (4 IQC per text message).
Yes. FieldEdge’s own site lists route optimization alongside its drag-and-drop dispatch board and map-based scheduling. QuoteIQ Elite includes route optimization and Route Density Zones too, so routing is not a reason to switch either way.
We could not find satellite or aerial property measurement in FieldEdge’s published features or partner list on September 25, 2026. QuoteIQ’s MapMeasure Pro is built into Beginner ($74.99 a month) and above: you trace the route from the meter to the appliance location, then export the measurement into an estimate. It is a satellite view, so confirm underground routing, clearances, and code requirements on site before you cut pipe.
Both run through partners. Goodcall, for AI call answering, is $79, $129, or $249 a month depending on a unique-caller cap, with $0.50 for each extra unique caller. Birdeye, one of several review partners alongside Podium, Broadly, and ReviewBuzz, is quoted at $299, $349, or $449 per location per month, billed annually upfront. QuoteIQ includes both: Virtual Call Team on every plan, metered in IQ Credits, and Review Multiplier automated requests on Elite and above.
No. It is metered in IQ Credits, and 125 IQC is about one minute of AI-answered call. Elite includes 5,000 IQC a month shared across all AI features, and extra credit packs start at $25 for 2,500 IQC. FieldEdge’s Goodcall partner is capped by unique callers, so both options meter usage, just in different ways.
Treat a suspected gas leak as an emergency, not a sales lead. The caller should leave the building and call 911 or the gas utility’s emergency number from a safe distance. You can put that instruction in your Virtual Call Team knowledge base so the agent tells callers what to do. It is a tool for capturing and qualifying after-hours quote and service requests, not a replacement for emergency response.
Anything you price. Typical price book items include new gas line installation, gas line repair, leak detection and pressure testing, range, cooktop, and dryer hookups, tankless water heater and furnace connections, fireplace and fire pit lines, outdoor kitchen and BBQ lines, generator hookups, pool heater lines, meter and regulator work, and natural gas to propane conversions. Set per-foot, per-appliance, or flat rates, and offer a good, better, best choice with Options Estimates.
QuoteIQ Cam, on Beginner and above, includes inspection forms with checklists, photos, notes, and PDF output that attach to the customer record. It is documentation for your own records. It does not replace the permit and inspection process in your jurisdiction.
Export your customer list from FieldEdge as a CSV, or ask FieldEdge support for a data export, then upload it to QuoteIQ’s AI Smart Import. The AI proposes a column mapping you can review, shows a preview, and flags duplicates. A Done-For-You setup ($299.99) covers contact import, price book setup, and a 1-on-1 onboarding session.
No. QuoteIQ pricing is published: Essentials $29.99, Beginner $74.99, Pro $149.99, Elite $299, and Max $699 a month. Every plan has a 14-day free trial and is month-to-month with no long-term commitment. FieldEdge plans are sales-quoted, it does not offer a free trial (its pricing page says new members do best with guided onboarding), and its onboarding is mandatory at about five weeks and reported at $500–$2,000+.
Yes. If your accountant requires QuickBooks Desktop (QuoteIQ syncs QuickBooks Online only), if you rely on the Coolfront flat-rate database and Proposal Pro, or if service agreements with renewal workflows drive most of your revenue, FieldEdge has real advantages. For a gas line crew comparing total monthly cost, add-ons, and time to a first quote, QuoteIQ Elite is $299 a month against an estimated $1,066–$1,386.
Satellite measurement, route optimization, live GPS, AI call answering, automatic review requests, inventory, and reporting, all in one platform, starting at $29.99 a month.
