FieldEdge publishes no prices and states on its own pricing page that it does not offer a free trial. QuoteIQ publishes all five plan prices — $29.99 to $699 a month — and every plan includes a 14-day free trial of that plan’s features.
FieldEdge is a quote-only, seat-limited platform with two genuine strengths — a flat rate repairs database and a deep QuickBooks sync — sold through a sales call with no free trial. QuoteIQ is a published-price, all-in-one platform: five plans from $29.99 a month for Essentials to $699 a month for Max with unlimited users, with AI tools, satellite measurement and a business phone line included rather than sold as add-ons.
The clearest split is what you can check before you buy. FieldEdge’s own pricing page lists Select, Premier and Elite with mobile app licences capped at two, four and six respectively, and asks you to request pricing. Every QuoteIQ number is on the pricing page, and you can test the product for 14 days before a sales conversation happens at all.
TL;DR: FieldEdge quotes pricing privately, caps mobile app licences by tier, and confirms on its own site that it has no free trial. QuoteIQ publishes every price, includes 10 users on Elite at $299 a month, and bundles what FieldEdge sells separately or not at all: AI Autopilot, the AI Estimator, MapMeasure Pro satellite measurement, ClientHub business calling, Job Costing, Route Optimization and InstaQuote self-quoting. For trade context, the Bureau of Labor Statistics HVAC outlook and the IRS standard mileage rate — 76 cents a mile from 1 July 2026 — set the labour and drive-time economics both platforms are trying to improve.
This comparison only uses FieldEdge claims that appear on FieldEdge’s own live pages, checked on 23 September 2026. Figures that circulate on review aggregators but are not published by FieldEdge have been removed rather than repeated.
FieldEdge’s flat rate repairs database and its QuickBooks sync are real advantages, and for an HVAC or plumbing shop that prices every call off a standardised book, they matter. Its own site describes “a complete repairs database for all trades” and financial sync that eliminates double entry. If those two things are the centre of how you run, FieldEdge earns a serious look — and this page says so in its own section below.
Everything else is where the two platforms separate. FieldEdge’s pricing page shows three tiers — Select, Premier and Elite — with no dollar figures, a “Request Pricing” call to action, and the note that “pricing can vary” depending on the add-ons you need. Mobile app licences are capped at two on Select, four on Premier and six on Elite, so field headcount is a pricing lever rather than an included allowance. Multi-option quotes, saved reports, prospect tracking, warehouse inventory, Proposal Pro, MarketingEdge two-way texting and the Consumer Management Portal all sit behind tier upgrades, with the last five reserved for Elite. And FieldEdge states plainly on that same page that it “does not offer a free trial.”
QuoteIQ takes the opposite position on every one of those points. The published plan ladder runs $29.99, $74.99, $149.99, $299 and $699 a month for 1, 2, 4, 10 and unlimited users. Elite includes 10 users at $299 — office staff and field technicians priced the same — and Max removes the seat count entirely. Every plan carries a 14-day free trial of that plan’s own features, and the AI suite starts on the $29.99 Essentials plan rather than at the top of the ladder.
An earlier version of this page carried per-user dollar rates, a setup-fee range, an onboarding duration and a repair-count figure for FieldEdge. None of those appear on fieldedge.com, so all of them have been stripped rather than sourced to third-party aggregators. FieldEdge’s own pricing page is the only pricing statement quoted here: request a quote for the real number that applies to your shop.
Buying software for a trade business is mostly a risk question. These four differences all come from FieldEdge’s own published pages, and each one changes how much you know before money moves.
FieldEdge shows Select, Premier and Elite with no figures and a “Request Pricing” button. QuoteIQ lists all five plan prices publicly.
Verified on fieldedge.comFieldEdge states it “does not offer a free trial” and routes new members through a guided onboarding instead. QuoteIQ gives 14 days first.
Verified on fieldedge.comTwo app licences on Select, four on Premier, six on Elite. QuoteIQ plans are sized in users, and mobile and web run at full parity.
Verified on fieldedge.comFieldEdge notes pricing “can vary” with the add-ons you pick. QuoteIQ’s paid extras are named and priced: the AI Website Builder, additional businesses, optional Done-For-You setup and IQ Credit top-up packs.
Verified on fieldedge.comField technicians live in the mobile app, so store ratings are worth reading carefully — including the detail that FieldEdge now ships two generations of app at once, rated very differently.
The honest footnote: FieldEdge’s newer app, listed as FE 2.0, currently sits at 3.5 out of 5 from 34 ratings — a much smaller sample on a much newer listing, and a clear improvement on the 1.0 app that most of its installed base still runs. Anyone comparing the two platforms should look at both listings rather than only the legacy one, which is why both figures are printed here.
What the ratings gap costs you is adoption. A dispatcher can be trained into any interface; a technician standing in a crawl space with one free hand cannot. QuoteIQ’s Quick Estimate flow, QuoteIQ Cam photo capture and on-phone e-signatures were all built to be finished on site before the van leaves, and standard line-item estimates autosave continuously so a dead battery does not cost the quote.
FieldEdge Mobile 1.0 rates 1.8 on iOS from 423 ratings and 1.7 on Google Play from 285 reviews. The newer FE 2.0 listing rates 3.5 from 34 ratings. QuoteIQ rates 4.7 on both stores across a 4,100+ review base. All figures read from the live store listings on 23 September 2026.
Every QuoteIQ figure below is published on the pricing page. FieldEdge publishes no equivalent numbers, so its column shows the tier structure its own pricing page does publish — the mobile app licence cap — and nothing invented around it.
| QuoteIQ Plan | Monthly | Annual | Users | IQ Credits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | $29.99 | $299.99 | 1 | 500 |
| Beginner | $74.99 | $749.99 | 2 | 1,500 |
| Pro Recommended tier | $149.99 | $1,499.99 | 4 | 3,000 |
| Elite | $299 | $2,990 | 10 | 5,000 |
| Max | $699 | $6,990 | Unlimited | 8,000 |
Annual billing gives two months free on every tier. Every plan includes a 14-day free trial of that plan’s own features, and upgrades mid-cycle are prorated with credits jumping immediately. There is no separate AI subscription: the IQ Credit allowance in the last column is what powers AI Autopilot, the AI Estimator, Before & After AI, the AI Text Generator and the Virtual Call Team, and every AI action shows its credit cost and asks for confirmation before it runs.
FieldEdge’s published tier structure caps mobile app licences at two, four and six. A shop running eight trucks therefore has a licence problem before it has a feature problem, and the answer to “what does the ninth technician cost” is only available through a sales call. QuoteIQ answers it on the website: Elite covers 10 users for $299 a month, and if the crew outgrows that, Max is $699 with unlimited seats at a flat price — plus crew creation and scheduling, the Sales Team Tracker and four additional businesses included.
That distinction compounds with drive time. The IRS standard mileage rate rose to 76 cents a mile on 1 July 2026, so a route that wastes 40 miles a day across five trucks is burning real deductible money. QuoteIQ’s Route Optimization cuts drive time by 15 to 30 percent and Route Density shows where the work clusters before you schedule it. Both are included on Elite rather than quoted separately, and you can sanity-check your own numbers against the free business calculators.
Ten users, 5,000 IQ Credits, InstaQuote and InstaSchedule self-service, Pipelines & Deals with up to five pipelines, mass text and email campaigns, inventory management, Route Optimization, Route Density, and EmployeeHub with GPS location tracking and Time Tracker Pro. The price does not change as you add people, from one user up to ten.
AI Autopilot controls the CRM conversationally through 55 integrated tools across 13 categories. It is on Essentials at $29.99 a month with 500 IQ Credits, alongside the AI Estimator, Before & After AI and the AI text tools. FieldEdge advertises no AI features on its site at any tier, checked 23 September 2026.
FieldEdge entries below are taken from its own pricing and product pages on 23 September 2026. Where FieldEdge’s site does not address a capability, the row says “not advertised” rather than asserting an absence we cannot prove.

Two rows in that table deserve to be read as FieldEdge wins rather than losses. The flat rate repairs database is a genuine product FieldEdge sells and QuoteIQ does not replicate — QuoteIQ’s business calculators and National Average Guide give you reference pricing, but you build your own Price Book. And the service agreement module is a dedicated tracker, where QuoteIQ handles the same commercial need through Invoice Subscriptions with full discount, tax and deposit maths. Whether that is a downgrade depends entirely on how many maintenance contracts you carry.
Each card below is a shipped QuoteIQ capability with a plan tier stated where the plan matrix settles it. The FieldEdge line in each card reflects what its own public pages do and do not describe, checked 23 September 2026.

Elite: 5 pipelines · Max: unlimitedA comparison page that cannot name the competitor’s strengths is not worth reading. These six are taken from FieldEdge’s own published material, and several are things QuoteIQ genuinely does not do.
FieldEdge’s accounting integration is the centre of its product story — “sync financials automatically” and “eliminate double entry” — and it is the single most common reason established shops stay. QuoteIQ integrates with QuickBooks Online only, from the Pro plan up. If your books live in a desktop edition, FieldEdge is the stronger fit.
A maintained flat rate book covering all trades, so a technician prices a capacitor swap or a water heater replacement from a standard rather than from memory. QuoteIQ gives you reference pricing through the National Average Guide, but the Price Book itself is yours to build and maintain.
Basic service agreements on Select and advanced on Premier and Elite, built specifically for selling, tracking and renewing maintenance contracts. QuoteIQ covers recurring revenue through Invoice Subscriptions, which bills correctly but does not track agreement lifecycles as a first-class object.
An Elite-tier proposal tool aimed at replacement and changeout selling. QuoteIQ’s answer is Proposal+, which turns an estimate into a branded proposal with company story, service list, photo gallery, documents and customer reviews — available on every plan, with sends metered in IQ Credits and free on trial, Elite and Max.
FieldEdge’s stated reason for having no trial is that “new members have the most success when our team walks you through the onboarding process.” For a shop switching twenty years of records, a hand-held implementation is a legitimate preference. QuoteIQ’s equivalent is optional Done-For-You setup at $299.99 or $999.99, including contact import, Price Book setup and a one-to-one session.
FieldEdge, published by dESCO, LLC and now part of Xplor Technologies, is a long-standing name with HVAC, plumbing and electrical contractors, and its Elite tier adds outbound call recording and warehouse inventory management. That installed-base familiarity is worth something when you are hiring technicians who have used it before.
FieldEdge aims squarely at HVAC, plumbing and electrical. QuoteIQ covers those three and roughly fifty more. Here is where each trade’s decision actually turns.
HVAC is FieldEdge’s home turf, and the flat rate book plus equipment-proposal tooling is a real answer to a real problem: pricing a changeout consistently across four technicians with different instincts. If your business is 80 percent diagnostic service calls priced from a standard book, that advantage is hard to argue with.
The counterweight is everything that happens around the repair. The Bureau of Labor Statistics outlook for HVAC mechanics and installers describes sustained demand against a constrained labour pool, which means the binding constraint on most shops is technician hours, not lead volume. QuoteIQ attacks that constraint directly: HVAC software with Route Optimization to compress drive time, InstaSchedule so maintenance bookings stop consuming office minutes, and AI call answering for the after-hours no-heat calls that otherwise go to a competitor. Run your own numbers with the HVAC cost calculator and bill from the free HVAC invoice template, and see the HVAC software FAQ for setup specifics.
Compliance is the other HVAC-specific factor. Refrigerant handling falls under EPA Section 608 technician certification requirements, so certification status and recovery records are things your CRM should be able to attach to a job rather than leave in a filing cabinet. QuoteIQ handles that through custom inspection forms and contract attachments on the customer record, with photo galleries as the visual audit trail. Adjacent air-quality work is covered too, from air duct cleaning to dryer vent pricing and duct cleaning estimates.
Plumbing splits into two businesses that want different software. Emergency service work wants dispatch speed, on-site payment and a technician app that does not lose the quote; project work — repipes, water heaters, bathroom remodels — wants options pricing, financing at the point of sale and a proposal that survives comparison against two other bids.
FieldEdge’s multi-option quotes cover the second half from Premier upward, but the wallet and financing side is where QuoteIQ pulls away. Options estimates present good, better and best on every plan, Affirm, Klarna and Afterpay sit at checkout on every plan so a $9,000 repipe does not die on the kitchen table, and e-signatures close it on the customer’s own phone. Pair that with plumbing software and drain cleaning tools, and check the plumbing FAQ for how recurring maintenance is billed. The BLS outlook for plumbers, pipefitters and steamfitters is the wider labour picture behind all of it.
Underground and drainage work adds a measurement problem that a flat rate book cannot solve. MapMeasure Pro measures the run from satellite imagery before anyone drives out, and the French drain calculator and foundation repair calculator turn those measurements into a number the customer can read. Related trades run on the same stack: French drain installers, septic services and basement waterproofing.
Electrical work has moved fastest of the three trades, and that is exactly where a platform’s release cadence matters more than its history. Panel upgrades, battery storage and EV charger installation are now a meaningful share of residential revenue, and the BLS outlook for electricians reflects that shift in demand.
QuoteIQ ships dedicated pages for electrical contractors and electricians, plus EV charger installation, generator installation and solar. Pricing tools follow the same pattern — the EV charger cost calculator and the electrical invoice template are free and need no account. For permit-heavy jobs, reminders and tasks keep inspection dates off sticky notes, and roles and permissions control who can change a priced estimate.
If your work is not HVAC, plumbing or electrical, the flat rate database — FieldEdge’s strongest asset — stops being the deciding factor. QuoteIQ’s industry library covers roofing, pressure washing, lawn care, landscaping, house cleaning, window cleaning, handyman work, garage doors, pest control, tree care and dozens more, each with the same underlying platform rather than a separate product line. Free pricing tools follow: the lawn care cost calculator, the pressure washing calculator, the tree removal calculator, the gutter cleaning calculator and the contractor invoice template.
Does a maintained flat rate repairs book change how you price more than half your jobs? If yes, weigh FieldEdge seriously and request a quote. If no — and for most trades outside HVAC, plumbing and electrical the answer is no — you are paying a quote-only premium for a database you will not open.
Most contractors do not overpay because one platform is expensive. They overpay because the platform covers eight jobs and the business needs fourteen, so six more subscriptions accumulate around it without anyone deciding to buy a stack.
This is the part of a software comparison that genuinely deserves arithmetic, and it is also where published pricing stops being a philosophical point and becomes a practical one. If you cannot see the base price, you cannot calculate the gap between what the platform does and what you still have to buy. So rather than guess at FieldEdge’s number, the useful exercise is to list the jobs a field service business actually has to cover, then check which ones are inside your plan and which ones are a separate invoice.
Quoting, scheduling, invoicing and payment collection are the obvious four, and every credible platform covers them. The other ten are where stacks form: photo documentation and inspection reports, property measurement, a business phone line separate from the owner’s mobile, review generation, marketing automation, customer self-service, GPS and time tracking, per-job profitability, materials and inventory, sales pipeline visibility, and a maintained flat rate repairs book. Very few platforms cover all fourteen, and the ones that do not usually integrate with a partner who charges separately.
QuoteIQ’s position is that thirteen of those fourteen sit inside the plan ladder, with the tier deciding when they unlock rather than whether they exist. QuoteIQ Cam and inspection forms handle documentation from Beginner. MapMeasure Pro, Property Street View and Zillow Quick Access cover measurement and property research from the same tier. ClientHub supplies the business number and two-way texting from Pro, alongside email and text automations, website contact forms, the Client Portal and Job Costing. Elite adds InstaQuote, InstaSchedule, mass campaigns, inventory, routing and EmployeeHub with GPS location tracking. The fourteenth job — a maintained flat rate repairs book — is the one QuoteIQ does not do, and that is precisely FieldEdge’s strength.
First, mass campaigns require your own gateways. Sending SMS blasts means connecting a Twilio account with its own number and A2P 10DLC registration, and email blasts need a SendGrid key with a verified sender; those carrier and platform fees are yours, not QuoteIQ’s. Anyone comparing “included marketing” between platforms should price that in rather than assume it is free and unlimited.
Second, AI runs on IQ Credits, which are included monthly and reset each billing cycle — 500 on Essentials through 8,000 on Max — but heavy use of the Virtual Call Team will consume them faster than light use of text generation, because call minutes are the most credit-hungry action on the platform. Credits are not money: they carry no cash value, are non-transferable and non-refundable once purchased or consumed, and they expire on cancellation. Every action previews its cost before it runs, and optional top-up packs exist, but the core CRM never requires them. Say the phrase “unlimited AI” about any platform and you are being sold something.
Five questions separate a good demo from a good decision, and they work on both vendors. What is the all-in monthly figure for my exact headcount, including every add-on you just demonstrated? Which of the features in this demo are on the tier you quoted me, and which are an upgrade? What happens to the price when I add a seventh technician in March? Can I export my customers, jobs and invoices myself, on any plan, without asking support? And what is the notice period if this does not work out?
QuoteIQ’s answers are on the website: the figure is on the pricing page, the tier gates are on each feature page, the seventh technician is already inside Elite’s ten users, data export is on every plan because you own your data, and plans are month to month unless you take the two-months-free annual rate. FieldEdge will answer the same five questions on a demo call — and given the flat rate database, it is a call worth taking if that database is central to how you price. The difference is simply that you can answer all five about QuoteIQ before anyone calls you back.
Export is available on all five QuoteIQ plans, not gated to a tier, and QuoteIQ never stores card numbers — those stay with the processor. If you ever leave, your customers, jobs and invoices come with you without a support ticket or a retention conversation.

“I was nervous switching systems, but QuoteIQ made the move seamless. Everything from customer details to quote follow-ups is now automated and stress-free.”
“I have been using quoteiq for a year and a half now and I can’t express enough how easy/User friendly it is to use. I have tried a couple other crm’s and though they also had a lot of features they were hard to navigate and had a poor layout. I get tons of compliments from customers on how professional my quotes look and how easy it is to make payments. Also the cost of quoteiq is second to none, by far most affordable. I highly recommend!!”
“Last time, I started a business, keeping track of my expenses, customers, payments, upcoming jobs, and scheduling was a pain, and it was spread over 4 different apps. Everything I need is in one place now, and the value you get with the affordable subscription upgrades is immeasurable compared to the time you save.”
